Meet our Founder
Ahmad Sadek
Founder of Out of 16
Ahmad Sadek, a 17-year-old senior at the American School of Dubai, is recognized for his academic excellence, passion for learning, and dedication to community service. His achievements span internships, research projects, and participation in fields like machine learning and artificial intelligence. He has also competed in investment competitions, where he applied his knowledge of finance and economics, further developing his analytical and leadership skills.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Ahmad is deeply committed to giving back. During the pandemic, he founded a football academy to provide opportunities for young players while maintaining strong community connections. His love for charitable work drives him to find ways to positively impact the lives of others, whether through sports or educational initiatives.
In every endeavor, from research to community projects, Ahmad continuously seeks to learn from those around him while inspiring his peers. He blends academic rigor with a passion for service, innovation, and leadership, positioning himself as a forward-thinking and dedicated student.
Inspiration & motivation
behind Out of 16
Lebanon's crisis was an unfolding catastrophe, worsened by the Beirut port explosion, the impact of Covid-19, and the ripple effects of the Ukraine war on global food prices. With continuous political paralysis and conflict, the situation has resulted in an increasing humanitarian crisis. Over 50% of the population now lives in food poverty, facing the imminent threat of famine.
As the crisis worsened, my greatest challenge was feeling like a helpless observer, watching the situation deteriorate. The question lingered – what could I do? How could a young teenager make a difference? The desire to contribute meaningfully stayed with me, even amidst such a seemingly overwhelming situation.
I saw a pressing need to assist children lacking essential winter clothing during Beirut's harsh winters. This realization inspired me to take action, and in 2022, I established my charitable organization, Out of 16. My mission was clear – to design and sell socks with emotive taglines to raise funds and provide warmth to those in need.
The name Out of 16 holds significance. I identified sixteen reasons that drove me to address these urgent issues, each symbolizing the need to act and make a difference. Through this initiative, I aim to bring warmth and hope to those most affected by the crisis.
